Virtual Art Circle

In celebration of Asian Pacific American (APA) Heritage Month and commemoration of the end of our first Virtual Reading Series, our collective is hosting a Virtual Art Circle on the last Saturday of May. This is an informal and relaxed space where we as members of the Myanmar diaspora can get to know each other further. It is also a space where we can share our thoughts/feelings about what is currently happening in Myanmar. Many of us have been directly affected by current events, and as part of this event’s community-building practice, the Baydar Team will guide participants in a series of activities to help us collectively de-stress and explore forms of artistic expression. We will have open, low-intensity drawing activities planned, which are very malleable to individual creative preferences. You don't need to be a self-proclaimed “artist” to join this space; all are welcome.

Our event is planned for the date of May 29 at 11 AM CST / 12 PM EST.

If so desired, we will be able to provide some supplies such as a painting canvas, a watercolor drawing sheet, and a sharpie. If you need these supplies for free, please make sure to select that option and input your mailing address at this link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeEIJZ66dAGIxef1DOhHEdXszVPLxufuSgCJb2AbB2nhr5vWg/viewform?usp=sf_link by May 7. However, you are not required to ask to receive these supplies in order to attend the event; you can purchase them yourself or find workable substitutes. Whether you need the supplies or not, if you wish to attend this event, you should fill out the above link.

Once you fill it out, you will receive the Zoom link and reminders via email in the weeks leading up to the event. We look forward to meeting you and making art and community together!
